Live Teen Patti vs classic Teen Patti: what is the difference?

Playing with friends and betting on a live-dealer table share the same cards and the same hand ranking, but they are two different games with different odds.

A fan of playing cards

The name is the same and so are the cards, but live-dealer Teen Patti and the game played at home are very different. Knowing the difference helps you understand what you are looking at when you see a live Teen Patti table.

Classic Teen Patti: players against each other

In the classic game every player gets three cards, antes into a pot, and bets in turns as blind or seen. You can fold, raise or ask for a show. The winner takes the pot. Nobody runs the game for profit, so there is no house edge: what one player wins, the others lose. Skill, bluffing and reading the table all matter.

Live Teen Patti: a bet on a dealt hand

In live-dealer versions a dealer deals two or more three-card hands face up on camera. The player does not play a hand. In the common Player A / Player B format you bet on which hand will rank higher, and you may add side bets. Once the bet is placed there are no more decisions, so the outcome is down to chance only.

The bets in a live 20-20 game

In the published 20-20 paytable the main bets on Player A or Player B pay 0.95 to 1 and a tie returns the stake. That works out to a house edge of 2.50% per resolved bet. Side bets are much worse for the player: Pair Plus is about 6.91%, the 6 Card Bonus about 8.56% and the Tie bet, which pays 800 to 1 but hits about once in 904 rounds, about 11.37%. The complete table is on the Teen Patti game page.

The tables on winzap.vip

At the time of writing, the live casino lobby of winzap.vip lists three Teen Patti tables: Teen Patti Live from Evolution, and One Day Teen Patti and Bet on Teen Patti from Ezugi. We have not seen their exact paytables, so we make no claim about their odds. Always read the rules shown inside a game before anything else.

The most important point

A live game has a built-in cost. Over many rounds the player loses on average, and no betting pattern changes that. Treat it as paid entertainment, set limits and never chase losses. Read our responsible gambling page and the legal guide. For information only. 18+.
